This year the Culture Fund approved a total of 125 projects. Of particular interest to me were the literary projects that got funding, especially one that is the writing of a biography of late Zimbabwean writer, Yvonne Vera. (more…)

Pretoria took my breath away. It is such a pretty place. It’s not an imposing metropolis like its neighbour Johannesburg and yet it tells a story just as powerful, just as intriguing- in it’s rolling streets and endless restaurants, in it’s hugeoungous shopping malls and its busy down town stalls.
