A T-shirt painted by one of the children at Chiedza Childcare Centre

One of the T-shirts on sale at the launch of an exhibition to commemorate World Aids Day at the National Gallery in Harare on Friday (28 Nov).

The T-shirts were donated by the European Union and painted by children from Chiedza Childcare Centre and Mashambanzou Care  Trust. All proceeds from sales will go to these two charities.

The exhibition entitled “A Round Solution” presents posters, banners, paintings, postcards, bookmarks and other items used in AIDS campaigns worldwide.

It is a joint effort of the National Gallery, Alliance Française, British Council, Embassy of Canada, Spanish Embassy, Swiss Confederation, United States Embassy and the Zimbabwe German Society.

Some of the posters are very candid. You can catch them at the National Gallery between 28 November and 12 December 2008 when the exhibition ends.
