Perhaps it takes a really great story and lots of luck on your side. Luck being when the judges read your story in a favourable state of mind. Luck being when the judges relate to something in your story and hang on to it. Luck being when out of scores of great stories, yours, by twist of perception, by placement on the continuum of time, by subject matter and perchance by ancestral intercession
, is even greater than these…

Writer of the award winning Shona novel “Mapenzi”, Ignatius Mabasa, has released a second novel. At a function held in Harare recently to launch the Novel, some people who had read the book gave some very positive reviews of this second work.

The House of Hunger Poetry slam is on this weekend, 2 August 2008 at The Book Café. The Poetry slam is celebrating the International Youth Day which traditionally falls on 12 August according to the United Nations International Days calendar.

‘amaBooks Publishers are looking for short stories for a joint publication with Parthian Books of Wales. The launch date for the book is 1 March 2009.
There is no set length for the pieces, or any theme. We would prefer pieces that reflect life in Zimbabwe, and that are accessible to and have meaning for readers in the United Kingdom. (more…)
