Well it's been short , But it's been good, And it's been full of wholesome fun, Well no more dog food in the grill, Grandpa Rover it's time to chill.
I know Grandma Ranger's gonna cry, Her tail won't wag with as much vigour, But I guess sooner or later she'll understand, That she'll have to do without her Rover, Yes sometime soon- she'll realise that it's over.
Remember always the rabbit chases, The three star chicken bones from Uncle Jay, Remember your tailwag and your pawshake, And whether you're happy, sulky or sad, Remember the only family you've ever had.
Well chill in peace, Don't bark too much, Wag your tail if you must, If we meet some day at Heaven's door, I'll remember to shake you by the paw.
