They are unheard in their silence,
And nobody pays them any reverence,
They are our heroes, and thus they have no glory,
Nobody wants to hear their story.
Because they are our angels they have no halos,
And of their divine deeds nobody knows.
They are our saints so they will not be canonised,
Maybe the whole system should be torn down and revised.
It is barbarian because it is our belief;
Because our ancestors started it , it will lead to grief,
Since they thought of it, it won't be accepted,
Unless we lie and let someone else be credited.

I say damn it to that, leave us be freed,
In our midst and amongst us we have all we need,
Give us our saints, give us our heroes,
Give us our angels, you can keep your 'sinless' halos.
